WEAPON Monsters
WEAPONS are very big and very powerful monsters that you have to fight in FF7 (gulp). All thouigh they can't be sensed, it is said that most of them have over a million health, and most of them have a move that can either disable a character, or even kill your entire team. You don't have to kill them to win the game, but if you do, you get loads of EXP, AP and Gil, plus special items. Oh yeah, and did I mention that the game contains five of them? Before I tell you how to kill them, let me tell you a bit more about all five WEAPON monsters:

SPOILER WARNING: The information I am about to mention may/will spoil the game for you. If you haven't reached the end of Disk 2 yet, I sugest you miss the first three"bios" as they may/will spoil the game for you.

Sapphire/WEAPON: This is the only WEAPON in the game you don't get to fight. Sapphire is the WEAPON which attacks Junon on Disk 2 (and also helps Tifa escape from a gas chamber). However, Sapphire is then killed off by getting shot in the face by the Junon Cannon.

Sapphire is the monster's official name. It was a name given to him by FF7 fans on the net. He probably got this name becuase
a) He's blue and
b) The other WEAPONS (apart from Ultimate) are all named after valuable stones.
In the game, he is refered to as "WEAPON".

Ultimate: OK, compare him to Ruby and Emerald, and he ain't really that strong, but then again, Ruby and Emerald were added in the Weastern version of them game - they were never included in the Japanise version (until the Japanise learned about this, and had a Japanise speaking version of the Weastern released - confuesed? Then check out the Rumor section, as I'll explain it in there). You ge to fight Ultimate once in the game when he attacks Mideel as a boss. Afer that, he is an optional boss. If you kill him, you will be rewarded with Cloud's best sword - Ultima Weapon.

Diamond: Like Ultimate, he was included in the orginal (first Japanise) version. Diamond only appears once, attacking Midgar. You need to fight this guy near the end of Disk 2, but you only stun him for a minute. When you "beat" him, he fires an energy baised attack at Midgar, killing Rufus. However, the Sister Ray (the gun ttached to Midgar, formally the Junon Cannon) fires a hole in Diamond, killing it.

Emerald: The first of the two WEAPONS added into the Weastern version. He can be found under water, so you'll ned a submarine to reach him. Like Ruby you don't need to kill himn to finish the game. Some people say he is harder than Ruby, but I think they are about the same. If anything, Ruby s slightly tougher. If you kill Emerald, you will be awarded the Earth Harp. On it's own, it doesn't do much, but there is someone who is looking for it...

Ruby: The second of the two WEAPONS added into the Weastern version. Ruby only appears when you have killed Ultimate in the desert around the Gold Saucer. Personally, I think he is the stronger of the two. If you kill him, you get the Desert Rose. Like the Earth Harp, this is useless, but some one is after this item...

How to kill them

One thing - I have only killed Ultimate and Diamond. This means that I have never killed Emerald or Ruby (but I have fought them quite a few times), but that doesn't mean I don't know how to kill them.
